Ingredients:

·       2 cups/16oz of water

·       1 cup/8oz of plant milk or regular milk

·       1 tbp of maple syrup or 2 tsp of sugar

·       2 heaping tbps of black tea (you can also empty out tea bags)

Optional:

·       4 crushed cardamom pods

·       1 cinnamon stick

·       1 pinch of saffron

·       1 pinch of fennel seeds

Instructions:

  1. Bring water and milk to a simmer with desired spices in a medium saucepan. Reduce heat to lowest setting and add tea. Steep until tea takes on a deep, pinky-tan colour, about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally or until a skin starts to form. Strain into a cup and stir in maple syrup/sugar to taste.
